EcoVadis Golden Medal Achieved!

We are proud to announce that we have achieved the EcoVadis Golden Medal!

EcoVadis is an independent organization whose mission is to provide the world’s most-trusted sustainability ratings, enabling all businesses to reduce risk, drive performance, and improve environmental and social outcomes. Founded in 2007, in the past 15 years it has assessed and rated over 75,000 companies world-wide, covering 198 industry categories and 155 countries.

EcoVadis rates the sustainability performance in four main pillars: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Sustainable Procurement and Ethics. The overall score of 70 puts us in the 96th percentile of all the rated companies, and in the top 1% of companies rated by EcoVadis in the Printing and service activities related to printing industry.

Aluflexpack is always aiming towards operational excellence in all areas of its business and this year Gold medal confirms our efforts and improvement compared to the last year score, when we rated as Silver medal.

In the Environment segment, which has the biggest impact on the final rating, our score grew from 70 to 80 points. Major milestones that lead to this achievement are:

• 99,93% of all our waste is recycled, recovered or reused
• Five out of eight of our plants use green energy
• most of our plants have recu­peration systems which bring useful solvents out of the process waste stream and provide energy, resulting in significant economic and environmental benefits

The largest improvement is shown in the segment of Ethics, where our score was increased from 50 to 70 points.

Transparent and ethical behaviour is at the core of our operations; we build relations of trust and openness with all our stakeholders, recog­nising the importance of fair relations not only in our business, but in global business communities.

In our everyday operations, we comply with international standards as well as our own stringent policies and procedures in order to secure ethical and trustworthy relations. In that respect, we have zero-tolerance for corruptive behaviour in our entire value chain; we take all precau­tions to prevent it and demonstrate our integrity through responsible management.
