Drniš, August 5, 2023 – The company Aluflexpack is in the final phase of a 70 million euro investment, with which they are expanding and modernizing the production plant in Drniš. On Saturday, August 5, 2023, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, visited one of the currently largest investments in manufacturing activity in Croatia. He was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Sea, Transport and Communications Oleg Butković, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Davor Filipović, Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Šime Erlić, and Minister of Justice and Administration, Ivan Malenica. The project was also supported by the mayor of Drniš, Josip Begonja, and the prefect of Sibenik-Knin, Dr. Marko Jelić. The President of the Board (CEO) of the Aluflexpack Group, Johannes Steurer, and the members of the Board, Lukas Kothbauer and Antonio Stojanov, took them through the Drniš plant.

– The investment in Drniš was realized mostly using own funds, with the use of HAMAG-BICRO grants. We are proud of the expansion and modernization of the plant and are pleased that the Croatian authorities at all levels, from local, regional to central, recognized the importance of this investment and gave us their support. We also want to thank them for continuously working to create an environment suitable for successful business development – said CEO of Aluflexpack Group, Johannes Steurer.

Aluflexpack is one of the most successful investors in the Croatian industry. In the last 10 years, since the Montana Tech Components group entered the ownership structure of production plants in Croatia, it has invested more than 200 million euros in a total of 4 production plants; in Drniš, Omiš, Umag and Zadar. Prime Minister Plenković and the Government of the Republic of Croatia recognized the importance of this investment not only for the Drniš region, but also for the whole of Croatia and the economy. Namely, Aluflexpack employs more than 1,100 people in Croatia, which makes it one of the three largest employers in the Adriatic region.

The latest investment in Drniš includes the construction of an additional 13,000 m2 of production areas, the installation of the most modern lines for processing and refinement of aluminium and the finalization of products, which increases the plant’s capacity by an additional 30,000 tons, respecting the highest ecological standards, and it includes an investment of 3.5 million euros in the modernization of existing and the construction of additional systems for environmental protection.

– Exports currently account for 90% of our company’s total revenue, and thanks to this investment, that percentage will grow. Also, as part of the investment, we created 65 new workplaces, from employees in the plant and administration to engineers of various professions in managerial positions. Aluflexpack thus remains the largest employer in the Drniš area – said Antonio Stojanov, a member of the company’s Management Board.

We would like to thank all our colleagues who participated in the implementation of the project to build a new plant in Drniš, as well as everyone who supported us on Saturday, during the visit of the Prime Minister and Minister of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
